Chapter Philanthropy and Service

Zeta Tau Alpha’s national philanthropy is breast cancer education and awareness. Throughout the year, we host several events on campus to benefit this cause so near to our hearts.  We host events like: 

Slime-A-Zeta

A tradition created in 2012 - Patrons purchase bucketfuls of pink slime to pour on ZTA sisters. This is hosted on The Quad for all to see! 

Big Man On Campus

A male pageant in which contestants compete based on a special talent, interview, and their catwalk wearing a bedazzled bra! In the fall of 2024 Iota Sigma raised $1,500 for breast cancer education and awareness during Big Man on Campus. 

Crown Classic

 A flag football tournament with teams including all ODU Greek organizations. In spring 2024, we were able to raise nearly $500 in just one Saturday!

Pink Out ODU Football Game

An ODU Football Game with the entire crowd - players, students, and families - wearing pink in support of breast cancer awareness. 

Making Strides Against Cancer ACS Walk

This annual event hosted in Virginia Beach is a special time for our sisters to bond with breast cancer survivors and their families. We volunteer our time to help set up the event and cheer on those participating in the walk.

Pink Week

An entire week of October dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Sisters hand out our pink ribbons throughout campus along with hosting fun and exciting events each day of the week. We raised over $3,400 during 2024 fall pink week! 

Pink Picnic

Sisters hand out free pink lemonade on campus and provide students with Breast Cancer Education while hosting fun games such as "Bra Pong" and corn-hole! Flyers on breast self-examination and early detection along with our pink ribbons are handed out.
