Academics
The Iota Sigma Chapter prides itself on its academic achievements, and we have a scholastic program that is designed to support and encourage our members toward academic success. Our Academic Chairman holds workshops to discuss study habits, creates chapter and individual GPA goals, and proctors study hall hours. Our favorite academic tradition is called "Smarty Panties", a weekly incentive for good grades.
Other programs include:
- Counseling from scholastic advisers
- Strawberry Patches (sisters are grouped together based on similar majors)
- Priority reservations of library study rooms
We are so proud of our sisters for their tremendous dedication and achievements in academics at Old Dominion University.
Several of our sisters are members of the Order of Omega - an Honors Society for the Greek Community here at ODU. Its purpose is to recognize those fraternity men and women who have attained a high standard of leadership in inter-fraternity activities and to inspire others to strive for the same values.
